Carlita goes retro on infectious new single ‘Cash For Love’
The Turkish DJ and producer pays homage to Italo disco on her new CircoLoco cut.
Turkish producer and DJ Carlita gives classic Italo disco a modern makeover on her irresistible new single ‘Cash For Love’, out on 26th January via CircoLoco Records.
The ninth release from CircoLoco Records, ‘Cash For Love’ is an uplifting piece of house built around a sizzling Italo sample from FPI Project. It weaves a modern low end with a distinctly retro break, nostalgic synth washes, and emotional strings – reflecting the eclectic energy and emotion of Carlita’s sets, with unforgettable moments this year at Coachella, Burning Man, Circoloco, Space Miami, ADE, and Sónar Festival.
“‘Cash For Love’ came about from my deep-rooted love of the Italo house/disco sound from the late 80’s and early 90’s”, Carlita says. “I’ve always had a soft spot for this genre and wanted to make a track that reflects this.”
Originally from Istanbul, Carlita took to the piano from an early age before studying cello at the Royal Academy of Music. Carlita’s skills as a multi-instrumentalist with a deep understanding of composition inform her production style, as she pulls from the full spectrum of cultures and genres to create her own distinctive sound. In addition, Carlita’s curatorial expertise as DJ is on full display with Senza Fine – the multisensory experience she co-founded with DJ Tennis – now in its fourth year reigning as one of New York Fashion Week’s most important parties. Her keen eye for fashion has also landed her major collaborations with Louis Vuitton, Les Benjamins, Nodaleto, and more.
Release number nine for CircoLoco Records, ‘Cash For Love’ follows the smash hit ‘Jealous’
from Mochakk, Intro from Chloé Caillet including ‘NYWTF’ ft. Mikhail Beltran, and the
club-storming Attention Deficit EP from Skream. The underground dance label’s hot streak
continues with this head-turning new cut from Carlita.
