Dutch house duo Dam Swindle return to Heist

A year on from their lauded ‘Minor Fools’ EP, which won the hearts of big players from Honey Dijon to Nightmares On Wax, Heist Recordings bosses Dam Swindle are back on home turf with their first solo material of 2024. Infusing a melange of sample-heavy house to classic 90s piano-driven cuts, the dazzling ‘Touch Me Again’ EP further solidifies the Dutch duo’s reputation as studio wizards and trusted rave alchemists.

Arranged with energy front and centre, ‘Touch Me Again’ is a cruising house epic with halcyon chord stabs and vocal chops bouncing about the mix. Add a touch of acid, and you have an essential follow-up to their 2023 Phonica hit ‘Allright (Just A Tribute)’. Next up, 'Hang On' harks back to classic Swindle territory with their signature well-worked vocal sampling paired with perfectly swung drums and warm, swirling pads.

On the flip, 'The Joy Of Melancholy' takes things deeper, adopting a quickened house groove and more silvery metallic drums where a heart-aching vocal brings a steamy sense of soul next to the expressive cosmic leads. 'Forever and Ever' closes out proceedings in true gospel-inspired deep house fashion pairing jazzy organ hits and off-kilter samples to round out another essential late-night excursion.

Dam Swindle ‘Touch Me Again’ EP drops via Heist Recordings on 6th September 2024.
