“Last year in September, coming back home after a massive b2b closing set with Eli Brown at Ezoo NY, I felt very inspired to make something a bit more funky and loopy, yet still banging, with some Hardgroove Techno elements. After exporting the first version with the working title ‘hi-lo funky stab hardgroove dj tool’ I immediately thought I should send this to Green Velvet. The track reminded me a bit of some of my early HI-LO tracks from 2015-2016, and Green Velvet was actually one of the first supporters of the HI-LO project back in 2015. He’s been a big influence on me since I first heard his music at parties in Rotterdam in my early teenage years around 2008/2009, and when I met him at Tomorrowland in 2015, I was so happy to find out how much of a positive and blissful person he is. Ever since we have wanted to do something together, and occasionally, I would send something his way, but now, this time, with this ‘hi-lo funky stab hard groove DJ tool’ track, we finally made it happen. We slowed it down a bit and gave it a bit more groove, and when we added Dajae’s vocals from their legendary track, ‘Brighter Days, ' the track just transcended to a different level! I’m super happy with the result. There hasn’t been a track for me in the last 6 months that’s been getting better responses in my sets than this one, and it’s been amazing to see how crowds have been exploding to it in other DJs’ sets as well, like Eli Brown, John Summit, Diplo, Adam Beyer and more,” HI-LO says.
