Tresor Berlin expands support for emerging artists through BCCO x SoundCloud New Faces Partnership

As a symbol of techno’s enduring legacy and evolution, Tresor Berlin proudly deepens its commitment to emerging talent through a growing collaboration with Berlin label BCCO and SoundCloud. At the core of this partnership is New Faces — Tresor’s long-running artist development platform — which now enters its fourth season with pre-registration for season five officially open.
Originally launched as a mentorship-based program by Tresor, New Faces was created to spotlight undiscovered DJs and producers, offering rare opportunities to perform in a club environment and gain real-world industry experience. The program is rooted in two core pillars: performance and curation. Each year, Tresor invites a select group of resident hosts to curate the Wednesday night series, while a handful of guest curators also shape the lineup. These hosts, in turn, mentor new artists, some of whom go on to co-curate future events — creating a cycle of learning, growth, and support.
With the support of SoundCloud’s global platform and BCCO’s existing daily Mix Series, New Faces has sprouted into an international launchpad for early-career DJs, expanding beyond its original program to offer even greater opportunities. Applicants from all over the world submit 1 hour DJ sets to BCCO which are assessed. Finalists play out in a BCCO Season supported by additional promotion from SoundCloud. Winners from each season get to perform at Tresor’s iconic Wednesday night events — known for their experimental edge and discovery-driven ethos — but also receive travel to Berlin, accommodation, a SoundCloud Artist Pro subscription, and merchandise from BCCO.
“Being a new DJ can feel like shouting into the void,” says Nayela Wickramasuriya (UK), a Season 4 artist. “You’re constantly putting work out — mixes, radio shows — and rarely get a response. It’s easy to lose momentum, especially when comparison creeps in. Being selected for New Faces gave me a real lift. It renewed my drive and reminded me why I started.”
“Being selected feels like a powerful affirmation for me as a Black queer FLINTA* artist,” reflects Olivia Zessin (DE). from season 4 explains “It’s a sign that my sound — rooted in techno’s origins as a form of resistance — is resonating.”
“I’m so grateful they took the time to listen to my set,” says Tayra Lacayo (Panama).“What makes me happiest is getting to share my musical selection with the world. For me, it’s always been about the music.”
“Techno has always been a part of my life — it’s about free expression, togetherness, and joy,” adds Christopher Ziebold (DE).
The platform is intentional in how it defines emerging talent: New Faces is open to artists who have been DJing for fewer than five years, producers who have never performed in a club, or artists who have not yet played at major Berlin venues like Tresor, RSO, Bassiani, Berghain and Basement in New York. Importantly, age is not a defining factor — the emphasis is on experience, exposure, and evolution.
Following the announcement of the Season 4 cohort, Tresor is pleased to promote that the next New Faces event will take place on May 7th, featuring standout artists from Season 3: ANTA, BRiZZ, cndiy, Siskmat, and Enzio Etchaberri.
Looking ahead, the Season 4 showcase this August quietly reasserts Tresor’s vault as a space for emergence — where the next wave of electronic music begins to take form.
As New Faces enters its next chapter, it does so with powerful momentum and institutional support — a model of what’s possible when community, creativity, network and infrastructure converge. Through its collaboration with BCCO and SoundCloud, Tresor continues to act not just as a club, but as a vital cultural engine committed to fostering the next generation of underground artists.
"It’s so important to BCCO to encourage and invest in the next generation of talent in our industry. We’re fortunate to have built a big platform and brand at BCCO and I think f you are fortunate enough to have a platform, it’s your responsibility to use it in a positive way." — Glenn Elliott, Operations, BCCO
