Cancel releases remix pack for ‘Sleep Is The Cousin Of Death’

Belgian techno producer Cancel has released a remix pack of his breakthrough track ‘Sleep Is The Cousin Of Death’ on his label Cancel Trax. The special edition features six remixes by a range of artists.

Cancel has been a fixture in the underground electronic scene for over two decades with a dark, analogue-driven sound and intense live sets. As the founder of Cancel Trax, he has collaborated with artists like Ophidian, AVLM and Kinetic and continues to shape the raw and industrial side of techno, not least with his 2023 album Insomnia on Definition Of Hard Techno.

Says Cancel, “This remix EP is a testament to my growing influence in the music scene, and brings together a roster of gifted producers who have reimagined the iconic track with their unique flair. Each remix offers a different perspective. This track has proved to me that music really is a universal language, you really can speak through sound”.

The remix release opens with Cancel’s own punishing ‘V.I.P’ edit, marked by heavy bass, harsh percussion, and unsettling vocals. Irish producer Luciid follows with a fierce, vocal-heavy rework, Belgian duo H! DUDE slow the pace with a syncopated version, newcomer The Salade offers a cosmic take layering the original’s harsh tones with ethereal textures and Polish artist I:GOR brings a breakcore-influenced remix filled with punchy drums and abrasive melodies. Finally, Vienna-based ORYMA’s hardstyle-infused version brings razor-sharp synths for a disorienting finish.
