Jamie jones returns to mount etna as Vulkano Summit Festival transforms sicily’s volcanic landscape into one of the summer’s most unique dancefloors

Catania, August 2026 – There are very few festivals where the location carries as much weight as the lineup itself. On 10 August, Vulkano Summit Festival returns to Pineta Monti Rossi in Nicolosi, bringing electronic music back to the slopes of Mount Etna for an edition that places one of Europe’s most extraordinary natural landscapes at the centre of the experience.

Running from 4PM until late, the festival unfolds beneath Sicily’s volcanic skyline on the night of San Lorenzo, Italy’s annual celebration of shooting stars. Surrounded by centuries-old pine forests and black lava stone, the setting offers something few electronic music events can replicate: a dancefloor shaped by one of the world’s most active volcanoes.

Leading this year’s programme is Jamie Jones, one of house music’s defining figures and the founder of Hot Creations and Paradise. His return to Sicily headlines a carefully curated lineup that balances globally recognised names with artists shaping the next generation of electronic music.

Curated in collaboration with With Love, the Main Stage also welcomes Jazzy b2b Jowi, performing together in Southern Italy for the very first time, alongside CHINONEGRO, Mayson Maynard, Toximami and Future.666. Meanwhile, the Yugen Stage expands the musical journey with performances from Italian stars Parisi and Angemi, creating two distinct sonic identities across the festival site.

Unlike festivals that simply occupy a location, Vulkano Summit has grown around Mount Etna itself. Since its inception, the project has sought to connect electronic music with Sicily’s landscape, culture and identity, creating an experience where the environment is not a backdrop but an active part of the narrative.

“Returning to Pineta Monti Rossi means bringing the festival back to the place that defines its identity,” the organisers explain. “The night of San Lorenzo, Jamie Jones’ performance and the exclusive Southern Italy B2B from Jazzy and Jowi make this one of the most significant editions we’ve ever presented.”

That relationship with the territory extends beyond programming. Produced in collaboration with the Municipality of Nicolosi, the festival continues its commitment to protecting the natural environment through a cashless token system, recycling initiatives and dedicated clean-up operations before and after the event, ensuring the surrounding forest is preserved long after the music ends.
